This tool is used to install 6P, 8P “classic” and 8P shielded modular connectors with a cable clamp. It has the following functions:

The installation of a “classic” RJ45 category 5e or 6 tool connector consists of pressing the contact pins, which pierce the wire insulation and ensure proper contact, and securing the cable by pressing the lock, which fixes the plug to the cable. In the case of category 6/6A RJ45 connectors, shielding is achieved by using a cable clamp (tail clip) that ensures contact with the cable shield and stabilizes the plug. Category 6/6A plugs with a clamp do not require the latch to be pressed, as this could deform the shield.
