The DS-2CD1043G2-LIU is a Hikvision-branded compact IP camera with hybrid illuminator, part of the EasyIP Lite series. The cameras in this series have the basic, most commonly used functions and are therefore the ideal solution for most installations where stable and trouble-free operation is required. The 2.0 motion detection function eliminates false alarms by filtering out human/vehicle objects. A 1/3" CMOS sensor with 4 Mpix resolution and a hybrid illuminator with a range of up to 30 m ensure correct visibility in the absence of light. Thanks to the IR and LED illuminator in a single housing, it is possible to select one of three low-light modes - IR, LED white light or smart mode. The 2.8 mm fixed focal length lens allows for a 98° viewing angle. Built-in microphone enables audio recording. Support for legacy and latest compression methods H.265(+) allows for extended archiving time of recordings while maintaining excellent image quality and backward compatibility. The IP67 high-tightness housing ensures that the electronics are protected from adverse weather conditions. The camera can be powered by conventional DC 12 V or by PoE+++ (802.3af compliance).

The camera model described here is equipped with Smart Hybrid Light technology and has two types of illumination: IR and white light. How the illumination is used is decided by the user by selecting one of three modes - classic IR, white LED light and smart mode. The classic IR mode uses IR illumination in nighttime conditions or when the illumination level is too low. In white light mode, LED illumination is used instead of IR. In smart mode, the camera triggers the LED light when it detects a human or vehicle silhouette, providing a colour image. Once the object leaves the detection zone, the camera switches back to IR mode. In addition to illuminating the scene to provide a color image, the LED light has the additional function of deterring an intruder.

The camera supports motion detection 2.0, which filters detected objects for human/vehicle silhouette. This improves the performance of the entire system and reduces the number of false alarms that reach the user. Once the filter is turned off, detection can continue as before, detecting all objects. With Motion Detection 2.0, recordings stored on an NVR supporting this technology can be quickly searched for a human or vehicle silhouette without having to review hours of footage.

Compression is a very important parameter proving the device advancement. The better the compression, the lower the bandwidth requirement with the same subjective quality. H.265 (HEVC - High Efficiency Video Coding) is currently the most efficient compression method. Compared to its predecessor (H.264), it reduces the data stream and the demand for disk capacity by half. Therefore, hard drives with a halved capacity can be used, or recordings can be stored for twice as long. Its improved version H.265+ has been optimized for use in CCTV monitoring systems. They allow for further reduction of data streams.

iVMS-4200 is client software dedicated to the management and supervision of Hikvision security systems such as DVRs (IP, TurboHD), video intercoms, access control, set-top boxes, etc. The software allows you to easily and conveniently monitor all systems. It offers IP camera viewing, remote playback of recordings, remote configuration, alarm event handling, two-way audio transmission, e-map support, hard disk recording and much more.

Hikvision devices can be operated via mobile phones with Android or iOS by using the dedicated Hik-Connect mobile application. It can be used to remotely view live video from DVR, NVR, IP cameras, door entry systems using Wi-Fi, 2G or 3G networks and also to view recorded videos. Operating video intercoms with the application provides also remote opening of the electric strike, receiving notifications and transferring calls from the entrance panel to the phone in the absence of the subscriber. The application allows connectivity via IP addresses and via P2P cloud. Hik-Connect is also the name of the cloud service that provides access to devices in the absence of an external IP address.
