The Hikvision DS-2CD2T85FWD-I5(B) compact camera is dedicated for use in CCTV systems based on IP NVRs. The camera is fitted with an 8 MP 1/2" CMOS sensor and an IR illuminator with a range up to 50 m to ensure proper visibility in low-light conditions, using the Exir 2.0 technology. It has a fixed 2.8 mm lens with a viewing angle of 102°. The IP67 rated housing protects the inside electronic components from adverse weather conditions. The camera can be powered conventionally with 12 VDC or through PoE (compliant with the 802.802.3af standard).

The camera belongs to the new, EasyIP 3.0 series of cameras, with high specs for affordable price. With Dark Fighter (Ultra-low-light) technology, so far available only in Hikvision Project series, the camera ensures improved color rendition and image quality in low-light conditions. The embedded intelligent image analysis (VCA) includes detection of faces, virtual line crossing, intrusion detection, detection of leaving/taking objects. These features make the camera a perfect tool for implementing advanced video surveillance projects.

If the main stream is transmitted with 3840 × 2160 resolution, the maximum frame rate of all streams is limited to 20 fps.

H.265(+): greater compression with H.264 video quality

The camera implements several video compression methods, H.265+, H.265, H.264+, H.264, MJPEG. Compared to H.264, the H.265 standard can reduce the data stream by half, which translates into proportional disk space savings and extended data retention time. H.265+ and H.264+ are Hikvision compression standards based on the original systems and optimized for CCTV applications. They further minimize the streams in typical video surveillance scenarios, compared to H.265 and H.264. With some video compression methods implemented, the camera can be used in CCTV systems based on modern NVRs implementing the H.265 standard (the DS-76/77/96NI-I/K series supports H.265+, H.265, H.264+, H.264). Legacy devices using the H.264 (the DS-76/77NI-E series supports H.264+, H.264) are also supported.

With the support of ANR (Automatic Network Replenishment), an IP camera with a memory card can record videos even in the absence of network connection. Once the network connection is restored, the recordings will automatically synchronize with the material recorded with the NVR. This ensures a continuous coverage of events, even in the event of communication problems between the camera and the NVR.

iVMS-4200 is a client software dedicated for the management of Hikvision systems such as NVRs (IP, TurboHD), video intercoms, access control, decoders, etc. The software makes it easy and convenient to control all the systems, providing a live view from IP cameras, remote playback, remote configuration, alarm event support, two-way audio transmission, e-maps, HDD recording, and many other functions. The app allows to manage up to 256 devices and streamed footage from 64 cameras on up to 4 monitors.

Hikvision devices can be operated via mobile phones with Android or iOS using the dedicated Hik-Connect mobile application. It can be used for remote live viewing from DVRs, NVRs, IP cameras, video intercoms over the WiFi, 2G or 3G and to view saved recordings. Operating video intercoms with the application provides also remote opening of the electric strike, receiving notifications and transferring calls from the entrance panel to the phone in the absence of the subscriber. The application supports connectivity over IP and a P2P cloud. Hik-Connect is also the name of the cloud service that provides access to devices in the absence of an external IP address.

The main window of the SADP software

SADP (Search Active Device Protocol) is a free, easy-to-use utility designed to search for Hikvision IP cameras and DVRs/NVRs in the local network. The network device search tool can also be used to modify device network parameters, e.g. to change or recover default passwords.
