Hikvision iDS-9632NXI-I8/4F is a modern IP network video recorder capable of monitoring, recording and playing back images from 32 IP cameras of megapixel resolutions, up to 12 MP. This standalone NVR with two HDMI outputs (one of them with up to 4K resolution) and two VGA outputs can be directly connected to a monitor or television, without a need for an additional computer. The high processing power and increased input and output throughput of NVRs from I series is especially useful in the case of connecting cameras with 4 MP or higher resolutions.
The NVR has 4 channels supporting face recognition. They enable the analysis of "live" images and already recorded material: searching for people by uploading photos, alerting about the appearance of a person from the database (up to100,000 records) or about a "strange" person (not in the database). The face recognition function can also be used to apply privacy masks to faces in the camera's field of view, and the mask can only be assigned to authorized users.
The image analysis performed by the NVR is based on deep learning algorithms. They simulate the structure of the human brain. Like in the brain, the process of learning builds connections between artificial neurons (programs) and creates a multi-layered artificial neural network. The algorithms independently analyze the model photos and recordings, creating the right connections. In this way, they create so-called layers responsible for detecting specific features. The more layers the algorithms have, the more accurate the analysis.
Multilayer networks can collect information and perform appropriate actions, primarily automatic extraction and representation of features (patterns) present in the data that teach the network, resulting in recognizing faces, vehicle makes, animal species, or events such as fall of a person.

Systems based on Deep Learning algorithms can be used at airports, in public buildings, in shops, hotels, banks, and shopping centers. Information from face recognition procedures can be used not only in video surveillance systems, e.g. to detect wanted persons, but also is useful for advertising and commercial purposes (e.g. to know the sex and age of customers). What is extremely important, the searching procedures do not have to take place in real time. Thanks to the NVR, the users can also search the archives.
The iDS-9632NXI-I8/4F NVR can be a part of system with automatically switching N+1 backup device. Such a system consists of a group of operating NVRs and a redundancy NVR that, in the case of a failure of any of the NVRs in the system, takes over its functions. After resuming the operation of the "original" NVR, the recordings will be synchronized. The redundancy NVR must have at least the same number of channels as the "largest" NVR normally working in the system. In the DS-9632NI-I8 NVR, the user can configure hard drives as redundant, read-only or read/write. The configuration can include limits of using the capacity of hard drives and assigning them for individual channels. During normal operation of the NVR, the user can replace hard drives that support data storage according to RAID 0/1/5/10. The disk drives can be switched on and off on demand. With ANR function (Automatic Network Replenishment), any compatible IP camera equipped with a memory card can record video data in the absence of network connection, and after its restoration the recordings will be synchronized with the NVR. This feature guarantees continuous recording, even in the event of some communication problems between the camera and the NVR.
The local recording and network transmission uses H.265, H.264+ or H.264 compression methods that provide very good image quality with relatively small bandwidth and disk space consumption. The H.265 and H.264+ compression methods are about two times more effective in comparison with H.264. This further saves network and memory resources.
Eight SATA ports enable the user to install 8 hard drives with total capacity up to 64 TB. Additionally, the NVR supports NAS (NFS) and SAN (iSCSI) disk arrays. In the case of disk space overflow, the newest data overwrites the oldest recordings. The built-in USB and eSATA ports allow for connecting external memory sticks or disk drives in order to copy some files.

IP CCTV systems based on Hikvision IP cameras and NVRs can be configured for continuous recording with special parameters in the case of specific events. Each channel can be configured individually in this aspect. It is possible to increase the frame and bit rates, independently of the continuous recording settings. After the occurrence of an event (motion detection, camera tampering etc), the NVR automatically switches to the event-recording mode (usually with higher parameters). During the rest of the time the recording is carried out in the continuous mode. The increased parameters just before and after the event allow to play back every second of the period with high detail and smoothness, while the recordings between events may have a much lower performance, taking significantly less space on the storage media.
HIKVISION NVRs in IP networks can be controlled via IVMS 4200 software. The software allows for configuration and management of NVRs/DVRs and IP cameras. The iVMS 4200 utility can remotely manage up to 256 NVRs/DVRs. The user accounts can have different access/management rights, from the highest level of "administrator" to individually limited "guest" levels.
iVMS-4500 is a mobile application for smartphones running Android, iOS or Windows Phone operating systems. It can be used for live monitoring and playback of images from DVRs, NVRs, IP cameras via Wi-Fi, 2G or 3G networks.
