Detaily
The iDS-7216HUHI-M2/X is an 16-channel, multi-system DVR capable of recording video from cameras HD-TVI, AHD, CVBS and IP.
The DVR for an analog system can record images with the following resolution and frame rate:
The DVR for an analog system can record images with the following resolution and frame rate:
- 8 MP at 8 fps (for HD-TVI system)
- 5 MP at 12 fps
- 4 MP at 15 fps
- 3 MP at 18 fps,
- 2 MP (1080p) and below 25 fps
In a standard mode of operation, 16 analog cameras can be connected to BNC inputs, as well as 8 IP cameras with a resolution of up to 8 MP. If any of the analog channels are not used, they can be turned off, allowing additional IP cameras to be connected. f all analog channels are disabled, as many as 24 IP cameras can be connected.
Key features:
- HD-TVI signal recording with 8 MP resolution at 8 fps, 5 MP (3K) at 12 fps, 3 at 18 fps, 1080p and below at 25 fps
- Support for HD-TVI, AHD or CVBS and 2 IP cameras (max. 8 MP, Hikvision brand or others via Onvif)
- possibility to replace analog channels with IP in 1:1 ratio
- extended IP camera mode (Enhanced IP - excludes VCA analysis)
- AI functions: motion detection 2.0 (8 channels) or perimeter protection (8 channels) or face detection and recognition (4 channels)
- AcuSense - alarm filtering with human/vehicle classification
- H.265+/H.265/H.264+/H.264 encoding
- HikConnect cloud support
Enhanced IP mode
Activating Enhanced IP mode increases the number of supported IP channels. It is possible to support up to 16 IP cameras with a resolution of 4 MP (the number of cameras can be expanded to 32, if all analog channels are disabled).
In Enhanced IP mode, the Intelligent Events (IVS) function on analog channels is disabled, and the resolution of HDMI/VGA video outputs is limited to 1080p. To activate this mode, direct access to the DVR menu is required.

AI functions
The DVR can perform the following AI functions: motion detection 2.0 (8 channels), perimeter protection (8 channels) or face detection and recognition (4 channels).
Motion detection 2.0

Motion Detection System 2.0 can analyze motion detection events for human or vehicle detection. Thanks to that, alarm notifications are filtered and unnecessary alarms are blocked.
The DVR has a function to capture and analyze faces on a certain number of channels. It is possible to create libraries of faces that will later be used to search the recordings. Related actions can also be specified , that will be executed in case of a correct or incorrect comparison between a detected face and a face that is in the library, such as triggering a beep in the recorder, an alarm in the monitoring center, sending an e-mail, controlling an alarm output etc. Faces, already recorded on the DVR or from an external source, can be added to the library. Recordings stored on the DVR, can be easily and quickly searched after pointing to a specific face, on channels on which the face recording and comparison function was active.

Artificial intelligence AI and AcuSense technology

Artificial intelligence plays a key role in CCTV systems. Cameras and recorders with AcuSense technology analyze the image based on a deep learning algorithm. They reflect the structure and principles of the human brain. As in the brain, learning creates connections between artificial neurons (programs) and creates a multi-layer artificial neural network. The algorithm individually analyzes model photos and recordings, looking for common features, and then creates appropriate connections. The so-called layers, responsible for detecting a specific feature, are built this way. The more layers an algorithm has, the more accurate the analysis is. Therefore, teaching with large amounts of data is crucial. Only multi-layer networks can collect information and perform appropriate actions, in particular automatic extraction and representation of features (patterns) present in the data, teaching the network for example to recognize faces, vehicle brands, animal species or incident, e.g. a fall. This model of DVR has 8 channels with AcuSense function.
On eight analog channels, it is possible to run virtual line crossing detection (together with line crossing direction determination) and intrusion detection in a quadrant area. Events can be filtered for human or vehicle detection.
H.265 / H.265 video compression
The DVR can record one or two video streams (primary and/or secondary) from each channel. The video can be compressed using the H.265 method. Compared with its predecessor (H.264), H.265 can reduce the data stream by half, which translates into proportional disk space savings and extended data retention time. H.265+ can further minimize the streams in typical video surveillance scenarios.

Sophisticated client software
Client software iVMS-4200 is used to view, supervise and configure Hikvision analog DVRs, network DVRs and IP cameras (it allows you to create a hybrid system) via the network. The application allows you to manage up to 256 devices on up to 4 monitors. One screen can display images from up to 64 cameras. In addition to viewing and configuration, it allows, among other things, remote playback of recordings, display of alarm messages, two-way audio transmission, use of multi-level e-maps for viewing.
Hik-Connect is a mobile application designed for cell phones based on Android and iOS operating systems. It can be used to remotely view live video from DVRs, NVRs, network cameras using the Wi-Fi, 2G or 3G and also to view recordings stored on the DVR. The application allows connectivity via IP addresses and via P2P cloud.
Working in the cloud
Hik-Connect is a network service designed for Hikvison devices. It integrates P2P cloud for remote viewing via smartphones and tablets. It provides a wide range of surveillance and basic configuration options: live monitoring (also multiple channels simultaneously), PTZ control, digital zoom, eavesdropping, playback of recordings from the archive and alarm notifications (zone violation, line crossing, etc.).

SADP (Search Active Device Protocol) is a free and easy-to-use software designed to search the local network for Hikvision brand cameras and DVRs, modify network parameters and restore passwords. For detailed information on password restoration (item 8) and operation of the program, please refer to the library SADP application – a tool for organizing CCTV systems based on HIKVISION devices in a local network.
